Managing a fleet of machines is hard.Managing a fleet of multi-tenant infrastructure is even harder.First, you have to worry about your own security and stability requirements.Then you have to navigate the competing priorities, rigid maintenance windows,and the "we'll add it to the backlog" schedules of every team you serve.When you're caught between a critical CVE and a tenants platinum uptime guarantee,something has to give.We found our middle ground by combining Flatcar Linux and Kured to bridge the gap from provisioning to patching.By creating signal-based automation, infrastructure maintenance is now a self-service reality.We’ll discuss patching at scale when tenants are fighting for every 9 they can find.We’ll share strategies for orchestrating reboots, how we put power in the hands of tenants, and our move from negotiated windows to a future of continuous,invisible updates.
